It’s time again to “Have a Heart for the Hungry.” Please join your neighbors in Churchill Commons and other area neighborhoods who will be donating food and other household items to the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op. The SE Co-op serves approximately 125 families in the Snellville, Grayson and Loganville areas each and every week.
To help, just fill a bag or bags with non-perishable, unopened food and/or other household items. On the flyer that was attached to your mailbox is a list of the currently most-needed food and other items.
Place your filled bag(s) at your front door by noon on Saturday, Feb 15th, making sure they are in plain view from the street.
The items needed include canned meats and fish, canned vegetables and fruits, spaghetti, whole grain pastas, seasoned pasta and potato mixes, dry beans, baby wipes and diapers, shampoo, disposable razors, laundry soap, toothpaste, feminine products and adult diapers. (Please check that none of the food items you donate have an expired use-by date.)
We will collect and transport your donations to the co-op. If you miss the pick-up (or we miss you), please text Marilyn at 770-380-4108. I’ll arrange to pick up your donations later or you can drop items at any time in collection boxes found inside the entrances to Cannon Church (2424 Webb Gin House Road), the host site for this drive.
Churchill Commons has been so generous in donating to this program through the years; I’m sure we’ll have a wonderful response this year as well! Thank you!
